Irene is a partner of Fischer & Schickendantz (, one of Uruguay’s leading law firms. As a conveyance attorney, she provides legal advice regarding real estate transactions, urbanizations, trusts, acquisition of local companies, agricultural enterprises and privatizations, among others.

In her thirteen years as a Conveyance Attorney, Irene has accumulated experience in a vast array of local as well as cross-border deals:

  • advising Minera Aratiri (Zamin Ferrous) on real estate law and acquisitions. Minera Aratiri is the largest foreign direct investment project in Uruguay´s history (USD 3 Bn). 2009 – ongoing.
  • Structuring of equity raising for residential real estate project (Village del Parque), Montevideo, USD 5M, 2010
  • advising and structuring the set up of foreign-owned agricultural ventures, such as USD 58 M Investancia S.A., 2011;
  • ongoing contract advice to J.H. Partners, a U.S. private equity firm, of Uruguay´s largest retail franchise: Gap stores, 2011; and Paraguay’s, 2013;
  • advising La Rural, Centro de Emprendimientos y Espectaculos, Argentina, on the public bid to develop a business and tourist center in Punta del Este, Uruguay, 2014

Irene graduated from the University of the Republic of Uruguay in 2001 and completed a Notary law course at the University of Montevideo in 2012.Irene is fluent in Spanish and English.

Her overseas work experience spans deals in the United States and several countries of South America.
